Services & Pricing
I specialize in commercial photography for companies and organizations that want to get their messages across to viewers immediately, in a creative and captivating way. You know, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” No matter what they do or sell, I help them show it off to potential customers or clients, the media, employees, investors -- the whole world.
Basically, I make great pictures of great ideas for great clients.
Specifically, I specialize in:
Photos can be shot in-house or "on-location," depending on the client's needs.
All images are supplied electronically and in the client's preferred image format.
The rates
The pricing for commercial photography is different than
that of portrait pricing. One reason for this difference is the usage of the
image. In the portrait job, the client buys a printed image, and the copyright
law legally prevents the client from reproducing the image. In commercial
photography the client buys usage of an image to sell a product or service.
Therefore, the image will be printed multiple times for advertising, which calls
for a different pricing structure. Since the image is still the copyright
property of the photographer, the client needs to purchase the image, according
to use.
My photography fees & costs, to cover a commercial assignment, are broken down in the following way:
Production Fee (Also often referred to as the “photography fee” or “creative fee”.) -- Simply stated, it is the cost to the client for my photographic services to shoot your project. It takes into account my experience, creativity and professionalism. This fee is based on fixed rates for actual time spent behind the camera, as well as any and all additional hidden hours that are unique to commercial photography, such as pre- and post-production time.
License Fee (For the
license to use the images I create for you.) -- Generally, photos are licensed
to the client as one-time, non-exclusive, North American rights. Other rights
are licensed as needed by the client. Such rights are, or can be, quite involved
with many combinations of rights granted.
Factors that can affect the
exact cost of the license fee include:
The size of the photo.
The kind of
use (corporate/industrial, promotional/advertising, Internet).
The region
the photo will be used (local, regional, national, international).
The
number of times the photo is copied for distribution (circulation size,
print
run or number of hits on a web site).
The length of time the photo is
needed.
Exclusivity (Do you need to be the only one to use this photo in
your
magazine, company publication, advertising campaign?)
Location where
the photo will be used (Inside page, cover page, home
page, banner, package,
poster, billboard, etc.).
How the photo is to be printed (Color or Black
& White).
Expenses -- These can
include, but are not limited to the following:
Mileage and other travel costs
Digital imaging supplies and costs
Shipping costs
Printing costs
Photographic
assistants
Purchasing or rental of props
Rental of camera and lighting
equipment
Hiring models
Parking and tolls

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: We know you can provide them, but can we bring our own make up / hair / stylist?
A: Yes. You can bring any team members you require.
Q: We have a product or clothing line and know what type of mood and feeling we want to convey, but we are not sure on what the final image should look like, can you help us with some ideas?
A: Yes, this is the type of photography that I thrive on. If you provide me with the mood, feeling, tonality, and some examples of what you really like and dislike, then I can devise a proposed image style and describe/sketch out the final image.
Q: Can you shoot at a location? Such as a restaurant or outdoor location?
A: Absolutely, my lighting equipment is fully portable and I have ample experience with location photography.
Q: Can you shoot my wedding, child's senior portrait or a family portrait?
A: No sorry, I don't do traditional portraits sittings or family-event photography but there are many fine photographers/studios in town that do.
